Mark Longhurst

Editor-in-Chief: Mark Longhurst

Mark is from Sydney, Australia and is currently studying for an MPhil in Economics. He began his university career at the University of Sydney, before transferring to Yale University where he majored in economics. While there Mark wrote for The Yale Economic Review. He has also written for The Economist Intelligence Unit. Mark received the Marjorie Deane Finance Journalism Studentship to study at Oxford. In his spare time he is a keen runner and rower.

Sahiba Gill

Sahiba is a visiting student from Swarthmore College where she is an honours political science major philosophy minor. She studies politics, philosophy and economics at St Anne’s. She has interned for Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, based in Washington, D.C., and began editing for The Oxonian Globalist last term.

Michael Brodsky

Managing Editor (Web): Michael Brodsky

Michael is a second-year visiting student from Washington University in St Louis, reading Modern History at Keble. He served for two years as Managing Editor of The Washington University Political Review, and has spent time working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. This past summer he interned for an education policy think tank and charter school in St Louis, Missouri. In his spare time, Michael enjoys dancesport and plays tennis for the Oxford University Lawn Tennis Team.

Tanya Sen

Tanya is studying engineering, economics & management at Trinity. She grew up in India and China, although she now lives in Dubai. She takes up any possible opportunity to travel, and spent this summer doing consultancy internships in Bangalore and Hong Kong. Over the past two years she has been involved with the Oxford Student Consultancy, the Oxford Microfinance Initiative and the Oxford Gargoyles (an a cappella group). Tanya plays for the squash team and sings with a jazz band.

Annette Chau

Annette is a first year undergraduate studying politics, philosophy and economics at Lady Margaret Hall. She designs the layout for our print edition of the magazine. Although born in Australia, she grew up and studied in Hong Kong, which in her opinion has the best food and worst air pollution in the world. Her chief interests are art, international affairs and eating.

Sophie Stewart

Publicity Officer: Sophie Stewart

Sophie is a first-year Ancient and Modern Historian at Trinity College. Although born in Scotland, she has lived in Kent all her life. In addition to working with The Oxonian Globalist, she volunteers for SAAFA, works to help NGOs with WOV and blogs for The Young Political Bloggers. She spent the past two summers traveling to Jerusalem, Beijing and Budapest, and intends to visit Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt in 2011. She is especially interested in the history and politics of the Middle East and North Africa.
